Privacy Statement

The Maynooth Community Council is a voluntary organisation. It focuses on matters of  general local interest including planning. It is composed of representatives of Residents  Associations, and social, cultural, artistic, sporting and other local organisations. 

Maynooth Community Council is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.  This privacy statement explains how Maynooth Community Council, as the Data  Controller, will process the personal data provided to it in respect of the

Maynooth Community Council will use your data in order to serve the following  purposes: 

  • Issue all notices, minutes, agendas, correspondence and other relevant  communications;  
  • Respond to queries in relation to matters of interest;  
  • Communicate with contractors and other service providers;  
  • Record contact information with specific persons in relation to matters of  legitimate interest; 
  • Record contact information in the context of events.  

Maynooth Community Council will not process your personal data for any purpose other  than that for which it was collected. 

Profiling 

Maynooth Community Council will not use any personal data collected from you in  respect of the Maynooth Community Council email address: 

maynoothcommunitycouncilexec@gmail.com for automated decision-making, or for  profiling purposes.

Lawfulness of processing 

The processing of your personal data is lawful under Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data  Protection Regulation, which provides that the data subject has given consent to the  processing of his or her personal data for one or more specific purposes. In this case,  the data subject has provided consent to Maynooth Community Council to process their  email address and other personal data as provided, for the purposes specified, primarily  to engage in contact with Maynooth Community Council. 

In the event there is a contractual relationship or potential contractual relationship  between you, as the data subject, and Maynooth Community Council, the processing of  your personal data is lawful under Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection  Regulation, which provides that: 

“The processing is necessary for performance of a contract to which the data subject is  party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into  contract data subject has given consent to the processing of his or her personal data for  one or more specific purposes” 

In this case, the data subject has provided consent to Maynooth Community Council to  process their email address and other personal data as provided, for the purposes  specified, primarily to engage in contractual arrangements. 

MCC lawfully processes personal data in order to carry out its day to day operations  where:  

Processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the  controller or by a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests  or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject which require protection of  personal data, in particular where the data subject is a child”

Security of your personal data 

Maynooth Community Council implements appropriate technical and organisational  measures to protect your information from unauthorised access including two factor  authentication. However, despite this, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable,  and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or  other type of misuse. 

Recipients of the data 

Personal data will not be exchanged with other persons or entities without your  permission. 

How long will your data be kept? 

Maynooth Community Council will only retain your personal data for as long as it is  necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and processed. 

Where regular contact between a member and the Maynooth Community Council and  /or attendance at the monthly meetings has ceased for an extended period of time such  that the member is “taken as implicit of resignation” in accordance with the Constitution,  then the personal data of the member will be deleted in accordance with the Data  Protection Policy.

The Maynooth Community Council’s Privacy Policy, which sets out how we will use your  personal data, as well as providing information regarding your rights as a data subject  (including details regarding right of access, right to rectification, right to erasure, right to  restriction of processing, right to object), is available on our website.
